The game took inspiration from several sources, including the Brandish, Mario & Luigi, and Mother role-playing game series, bullet hell shooter series Touhou Project, role-playing game Moon: Remix RPG Adventure, and British comedy show Mr. Outside of some artwork and character designs, Fox developed the entirety of the game by himself, including the script and music. Not only that but you will have to make sure the kill counter for each area has been completed as well. This ending is only achieved after killing every creature. Toriel will ask if you want to stay with her and if you chose yes the final cut scene will see you sleeping in bed and she will bring you a piece of pie. Everyone will come with you and talk about their new exciting lives on the surface. Talking to each of them will give you some fun dialogue.įrom here you can head all the way back to where you first fell down in the ruins and talk to Asriel before he turns back into a flower. You will wake up surrounded by the friends you've made and they'll talk about going through the barrier.

Talk to Asriel and you can choose to forgive and console him as he lets all the other souls free and opens the barrier. Once you've saved your friends and Asriel the battle will end. It looks like a happy ending until once again, Flowey shows up and captures everyone.įlowey will reveal himself to be Asriel, Toriel and Asgore's son and the proper final boss fight will begin. Undyne, Dr Alphys, Papyrus, and Sans will all also show up to try to stop the fight. Before the two of you can fight, Toriel will knock him out of the way. Once this is all done you can return to battle King Asgore. It's the most common ending achieved as without prior knowledge it's difficult to know that you can spare all the creatures. If you haven't been careful to kill or spare everyone this is the ending you'll come to. you can also use our Pacifist Walkthrough and Genocide Walkthrough to help you achieve these endings. If you want to achieve either the pacifist or genocide endings you'll want to decide that before you start the game. Doing this will permanently taint your save file, even for future playthroughs. Killing every creature and also purposefully triggering every random encounter to kill those creatures as well will get you the genocide ending. Killing even one enemy (including Jerry) will mean that you can't get the Pacifist ending - which is thought to be the game's true ending and it is recommended you do this on your first playthrough.ĭoing a mix of killing and sparing will get you one of the many variations of a neutral ending.
